Hey, I'm Emily!
And like you, I don’t want to live in a world without cheese.
I love playing outside, growing and eating good food, and drinking a bit of nice wine or a good, hoppy IPA.  With a local cheeseboard, of course. 
Holistic Nutrition and Herbal Medicine are my specialties.  
I am a qualified Nutritionist & Medical Herbalist with a Bachelor of Natural Medicine, and I offer one-on-one health assessments and individualised treatments to help you get your health back on track.  
 
I have just returned to Canada after spending nearly 12 years living in New Zealand, and have settled in beautiful Kelowna, BC. While I was in NZ I studied natural medicine at the South Pacific College of Natural Medicine.  
I am a Professional Member of the Canadian Herbalist's Association of BC.
 
My approach to health is all about balance.
 
 Nutrition and natural medicine are incredible tools, especially for chronic conditions. But I am also endlessly grateful for modern medicine and technology.  So let's combine them, and get the best of both worlds!

Meal plans are a great way to get yourself into good habits.

 

Good nutrition (with space for cheese, of course) can improve a wide variety of conditions, often making other treatment unnecessary or at least short-lived!  

I also insist that my meal plans are delicious and can pass any dinner party test.

Some of the most common health issues that I deal with include:

  • Digestive disorders - IBS, vague, undiagnosed, whatever - I can help

  • Problems losing weight - it may be as easy as a meal plan! (though we can investigate other causes)

  • Thyroid issues, especially low thyroid function. Even if your blood tests say you're "normal"

  • Adrenal/stress issues. Herbs, diet, and lifestyle changes can sure make a big impact here. Also, excess cortisol can be a cause of weight gain (especially around the middle)

  • Low immunity or chronic infections

  • Skin issues such as eczema or psoriasis

  • Hormonal imbalances - bad PMS, weird or irregular periods

Emily Boese (BNatMed, RHT) is a qualified Nutritionist and Medical Herbalist based in Kelowna, BC, Canada.  She runs a clinical practice, a popular online meal plan program, and works as the in-store nutritionist at Choices Markets in Kelowna where she supports community programs such as Chefs in the Classroom and the Start Fresh Project.

She regularly speaks and writes on whole foods nutrition, plant medicine, and radical self-care practices.
